Pig Path is a free spook walk that is being put on by high school students. They are accepting donations, which will be donated to Drake Yancey’s family.
Pig Path was created by junior Aleeyah Dean and junior Kayla Hoelscher with the original intention of having the spook walk because it would be the most fun. They later decided to give the proceeds to the Yancey family.
“We were even more determined to make it happen when we decided to use it as a platform to fundraise for Drake,” Dean said. “The loss of Drake impacted a lot, if not all of the students, and we thought this was a great way to help.”
Pig Path will be Friday, Oct. 21 from 8-11 p.m. at 22544 N 4020 road. They are partnering with The Asylum, in Nowata, to create Pig Path. The Asylum heard about what the students were trying to accomplish and were eager to help.
“Trey, one of the directors, thought it was so cool so he set up a meeting with us and bam, it happened,” Hoelscher said.
Not only are some of The Asylum’s staff helping during the spook walk, they will be donating two dollars from every ticket they sell Friday to the Yancey family as well.
