December 10, the pom-pom squad competed at the state pom competition at Oklahoma City University.  The team comprised of 16 girls won two state titles as a team. They won first in both hip hop and pom.

In addition to the state titles, two ensembles and a solo performance placed as well. Freshman Gloria Castillo placed second for her solo. Castillo also performed in the varsity duet with sophomore Cassie Harding, where they placed first. Five girls took part in the varsity ensemble, and placed second in the intermediate ensemble category.

In addition to winning different categories at state the past few years, such as hip hop and pom, the pom team has made numerous appearances at the NDA Nationals hosted in Orlando, FL. In 2014, the team won the national title for pom. In 2015, the team qualified for the NDA National Championships again, and placed second in pom, fifth in hip hop, and 19 in Jazz. In 2016, the team qualified for the NDA National Championship, where they placed second in pom, third in hip hop, and fifth in jazz.

The team will be attending nationals the first week of February, and are confident that they will enjoy the outcome of their success.
