The Bartlesville Board of Education met March 7, to approve the appointment of Chuck McCauley as the new superintendent after a long, time consuming search. McCauley will start as the new superintendent in June.

“We had a great mix of candidates and they gave us a great amount of knowledge,” said board member Tyler Vaclaw. “We appreciate Chuck for taking this on.”

President Scott Bilger said he is pleased with the results of the search and that McCauley is the finalist.

“I’m very happy with the result and the process we went through,” said Bilger. “It was a timely process we went through, but it was time well spent.”

McCauley has already begun implementation of his 100 day plan by visiting school sites around the district.

“I have to be honest, I’ve already started my 100 day plan today and I’m truly humbled to have this opportunity,” McCauley said.  “This is where I want to be, this is my home, and I will work very hard to do what is best for our kids.”

Superintendent Gary Quinn is also pleased to have McCauley as a successor.

“I am extremely pleased that the school board approved to hire Mr. Chuck McCauley as the new superintendent,” said Quinn. “I know he will continue to carry on the great tradition of having one of the best school districts in the state- I believe the school board did an admirable job of conducting the superintendent search in a professional manner… They should be applauded for their diligence in this important task. ”
