The throwback game is always a highlight of the basketball season. The game takes place in the old gym at the high school. The Bruins will face Jenks on Jan. 27. The night starts off with junior varsity playing with girls at 4 pm and boys at 5 pm. The Lady Bruins (8-7) play at 6:30 p.m. against the Lady Trojans ( 4-10) with the Bruins (8-7) following at 8 against the Trojans (2-11).

Both teams have faced hard loses this year but hope to accomplish a win Friday night. Friday will be the first home game for the Bruins since facing Sand Springs in the first game of the season.

“The atmosphere for the game is always great,” junior Erin Shoemaker said. “The seats are always filled, and the crowd is always cheering, it’s a different experience than regular games. The crowd is right there and you are actually able to interact with them. It’s just all around a great experience that I love being apart of.”

This year the throwback game will be a new experience for seniors Sydney Cole and Lauren Richter.

“I feel that it will be a different atmosphere than a normal game,” senior Lauren Richter said. “It will be a more intense game just because of the atmosphere and how loud the crowd will be.

All games on Friday are in the old gym. Student tickets are $5 and adults tickets are $7.
