The Bruin Bucket Brigade is a longstanding tradition at Bartlesville High School, and it isn’t stopping anytime soon. For any incoming freshman or new students, here’s what you need to know about the Bucket Brigade.

  1. It’s not a club, any BHS student is welcome

From freshman to senior, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun! Only requirements are a bucket, something to hit it with, and dressing on theme as best you can. One fun thing to do is to decorate your bucket, but some just go without. Whichever way you choose, just make sure you have one.

  1. Where is the student section?

The student section is the first section on the left portion of the stands. You will most likely see other students there, so don’t be afraid to join in!

  1. Standing room only

Be ready to stand for the majority of the game, except during halftime. If you’re a senior, you’re eligible for front row and the next few rows above. From there, juniors, sophomores, and freshman stand in descending order of grade. This isn’t necessarily a rule, but typically upperclassmen get the best rows.

  1.  Follow @bhsgetshype on Twitter for updates on theme

So far the themes for home games this season are:

September 1: Whiteout

Dress in all white. Official whiteout shirts are available at lunch for $5.

September 8: Gold

Go for the gold and wear as much gold as you can!

September 29: Hawaiian

Break out your Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts, and get ready to party island style.

October 13: Space Jam / Jersey

Wear any jersey you’d like, but cheer for the Bruins!

November 3: USA

Rep red, white, and blue to show your patriotism!

  1. Get loud and cheer!

The student section is always rowdy and there are plenty of cheers to join in on. Don’t be afraid to get loud, bang on your bucket, and shout for the bruins! See you this Friday for our game against the Owasso Rams.
