If you ever find yourself in a nearly 100 year old building with approximately 1500 of your closest friends, you may be at a Two Door Cinema Club concert. When you find yourself at this concert you should then proceed to take everything you thought you knew about concerts, lock it in a box, and throw it into the pit of said concert because this concert completely redefines your concert experience.

The historic Cain’s Ballroom was the perfect venue for the Two Door Cinema Club concert on Monday the 25th of September. Cain’s Ballroom is host to hundreds of concerts a year all with general admission tickets. The venue is a very intimate area perfect for all types of groups that perform there every year. The smaller venue allows a up close and personal experience with the artist and the artist is given the opportunity to interact with fans in a way they couldn’t at a larger venue.

Two Door Cinema Club has been producing music for a decade and are currently on tour for their 2016 disco-infused album, Gameshow, although their 17 song long setlist includes songs from their two previous albums, Beacon and Tourist History.

The irish trio, along with their touring drummer, bring a new and unique energy to the stage. They begin with some of their newer songs like “Are We Ready?” and “Lavender” and end the night with the sanguine “Next Year” and the set-closers “Sun” and “What You Know.”

Even after a night filled with fast-paced light shows and constant vocals or instrumentals played over the speakers, the boys appeared back on stage as swiftly as they had left it. They finished their set “Someday” their uncharacteristically feral track from their 2012 album Beacon.

Two Door’s live performance is exactly what all their songs are: dynamic, punchy, and impossible not to enjoy. This was a ballroom no one wanted to leave.
