The new year has just begun, people are starting their resolutions. Possibly one of your new year’s resolutions was to find new music, or trying to branch out into new genres. If that is you, you’re definitely not the only one trying new things. Justin Timberlake is bringing a new sound to 2018 with his new song “Filthy,” and the same goes for Fall Out Boy and their new album to be released this year. A recent release  “HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON’T,” is definitely a new style for the band Fall Out Boy.

Perhaps you want to support local artists this year. A good band to get into is The Ivy. Based out of the OKC and Tulsa area, the trio released a new song called “Have You Ever Been In Love” using unique pop beats in their music. If pop isn’t your style, maybe the mellow indie rock band Future Tapes is. They have released a single “Taken Away,” but they show high potential with promising music to come. One more local band to be on the lookout for is Space4Lease with their psychedelic rock vibe.

Another unique music group is Brockhampton. The music group from California brings an alternative hip-hop feel to the table. Their song “JOHNNY” is a good introduction to what their group is like. Lead vocal Kevin Abstract is an unapologetic lyrical genius and their sound is something almost everyone can get into. If you’re into the unapologetic side of music, you should check out a solo project created by Colin Rigsby called Vesperteen. Colin just released a new song called “It Will Never Be Enough,” and it did not leave fans disappointed.
